Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Register Today Register for day to day or long term teaching jobs today

If you teach in the UK, you are required to have Qualified Teacher Status. This means that the Department for Children Schools and Families (DCSF) officially recognises you as a teacher, up-to-date with UK Curriculum and procedures. Teachers in permanent positions who have QTS are paid on the national pay scale for teachers.

Overseas teachers can work in the UK for up to four years without QTS but if you intend to stay here indefinitely, it is a good option. Teaching Personnel can help with the process and we provide a framework where you can be assessed and monitored. Further details will be provided to you when you start work.

For additional information on what is involved in QTS assessment contact the Department for Children, Schools and Families on www.dcsf.gov.uk
